FYI: I've seen a Margonite Gemstone drop from the mobs in the City. They're all colored gold.

Gemstones aren't extremely hard to get, they drop as frequent as golds do.

Yes, of course, getting 100 gold drops of the same kind is obviously not hard.

10 hours of playing and saw 3 drops for the party (not including the chest).
I got 1 for me, from the chest at the end of the City part of the quest, heavily guarded by an insane boss.

Now, all I have to do is do this 99 times more.
Piece of cake.

You - A group of 8 lvl 20 strangers with an assortment of experimental skills that just don't seem to work!

Margonites - An Elite force of highly programmed AI lvl 28's in a mob of 8-24 that work in unison to form the perfect killing machine!

Did I burst anyone's bubble?

There's also a Stygian Scythe (same skin and stats as the Terror Scythe, only with a 20% enchant instead of +30 hp mod), and a 10/10 Soul Reaping wand (1-handed Willcrusher skin).

I personally haven't been wowed yet by anything dropped in Realm of Anguish. Now for some crazy guild to pool their gems together and get one of those Tormented weapons...

At the very first days of GW the cost of FoW armor (105 ecto 105 shards) seemed ridiculous but now dozens of thousands players have them, they're everywhere. The new 100-gemstones items are just like that, a long term goal to keep players occupied. I expect them to become common in time when efficient methods of farming them will be discovered.
